Coopers Beach is a 4 hour road trip from Auckland or 50 minute flight with Air NZ into Kerikeri Airport. Barrier Air has daily flights into Kaitaia from North Shore or Auckland Airports.

Fishing
Coopers Beach is located between Mangonui and Taipa on the southern end of beautiful Doubtless Bay with easy access to the best Snapper fishing in New Zealand. The best all-tide concrete boat ramp is at Mill Bay, just 5 minutes down the road from Coopers Beach.
Digging for shellfish is popular and at Coopers Beach, tuatuas are there to be found at low tide.
Golfing
Northland is a golfer's paradise and Coopers Beach is a short drive to some of the country's most spectacular courses. Whangaroa Golf Course, 16km south of Mangonui, is where the locals play.
However, a 50 minute drive will take you to Kauri Cliffs at Matauri Bay which is currently ranked #39 in the world by Golf Digest Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses in the World.
Closer to home, Peppers Carrington Resort located on the Karikari Peninsula is only 20 minutes away. The tournament standard 18 hole Carrington Golf Course was designed by noted American course architect Matt Dye.
Dining
The historic coastal community of Mangonui is only 5 minutes drive away and is where you'll find Mangonui's world famous fish and chip shop. Dine in or takeaway, the fish shop boasts some of the best fish and chips you'll find anywhere.
Mangonui's Waterfront Cafe, Karikari's Cafe & Cellar Door Cafe as well as Peppers Carrington Resort means you'll be spoilt for choice.
